Heathy & Tasty

  • Nutritional Quality Policy

We take every care to source ingredients that are traceable from their origination through to the item you feed your horse.

We only work with suppliers and manufacturers that have quality systems in place and share our interest in providing the best we can source. Where possible, we use human-grade ingredients as we wouldn’t expect any lesser quality for our horses.

We sample and test ingredients for undesirable substances on a regular basis with accredited independent laboratories and use ingredients that are safe for competition use.

As we work with natural products/ingredients, it can be a challenge to ensure consistency in appearance, and if any of our products are unsatisfactory we are always happy to discuss any situation that may arise – we continually aim to improve our products with the objective of making a difference to the quality of horse’s life.

Inspiration behind the product

The Story

Have you heard of macaroons? Yes! Those nice little cookies we occasionally treat ourselves to? Well we wanted horses to be able to enjoy a similar looking version, but one that was suitable for all and healthy. As a result, Crunchits ‘popped’ into existence after sourcing low sugar, molasses free ingredients and trialling which flavours horses liked the most.

FAQ's

Crunchits can be fed as treats, with suggested quantities being 20 treats per day for a 250kg pony and 40 treats per day for a 500kg horse. Always provide plenty of fresh water.

Yes, Crunchits are suitable for all horses and ponies, especially those prone to laminitis or those on a low-calorie, low-sugar diet.

Is Sugar the Enemy?

High sugar diets have been increasingly implicated in conditions such as laminitis. Horses are well adapted to digesting sugar and starch in their diets, a capability that has evolved over millennia adapted to the life of a browsing herbivore – essentially trickle feeding of a high fibre based diet.
