Stellar Safety Headcollar

The Stellar Safety Lead Rope is 2 meters long for easy handling.

Choose the leadrope size based primarily on your horse’s approximate body weight, using their usual headcollar size as a secondary guide. If your horse falls between two sizes, contact our customer care team for guidance before use.

When using with a Stellar Headcollar, we would usually recommend using the same corresponding Leadrope size where possible (i.e. Large Headcollar, Large Leadrope).

No. When tying up a horse, it can be beneficial to use more than one appropriate release point. If you currently tie to correctly prepared baling twine or another suitable breakaway point, we recommend continuing to do so.

You may also wish to use the leadrope alongside a Stellar Safety Headcollar for more release opportunities – for example, the headcollar may release if it becomes caught, while the leadrope may release if the horse pulls back.. Please note: No safety product can guarantee release in every situation or at an exact weight, particularly when the force is applied from different directions.

The breaking strength of baling twine can vary significantly depending on its thickness, age, condition and the number of strands used.

A small number of thinned strands may break before the Stellar Safety Leadrope releases. Thicker or stronger twine may remain intact for longer, allowing the leadrope’s safety system to release first.

Unlike baling twine, the Stellar Safety Leadrope has been tested to release within a specified average range. However, its exact release point can still vary depending on the circumstances and direction of the pull.

Yes. Mud, hair, hay, grass and other debris can prevent the hook-and-loop fastening from closing securely. Clean and inspect the strap before each use and replace it if it no longer adheres properly.

The safety strap should also be replaced after 10 emergency releases, or sooner if it shows signs of damage or reduced adhesion. Check the screw after every release and tighten it if necessary before using the leadrope again.

The Stellar Safety Leadrope can be used with a suitable, correctly fitted headcollar. For additional release opportunities, it can also be used with a corresponding Stellar Safety Headcollar.
